NASA last year released a video (opens new window) (Credit: NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center) showing how carbon dioxide in the atmosphere travels around the globe from an ultra-high-resolution computer model. It provides a stunning new look at plumes of carbon dioxide swirling and shifting as winds disperse the greenhouse gas away from its sources.
Watch the video with the globe rotated to show the north pole. Astonishing new perspective compared to the plain video (opens new window), isn't it?
By the way, you're looking at a sneak preview of our mapalupa (opens new window) service. Feel free to sign up for early access (opens new window) if we got your interest.
We make use of Cesium (opens new window) for the globe visualization. Many thanks to their team for the great Open Source software.
